This painting captures a quiet Oregon stream on a cloudy summer day. I was drawn to the way the fallen logs stretched into the water, creating a natural point of focus. The soft greens and blues reflect the filtered light and stillness of the moment. The whole scene has a diffuse, dreamy quality — like something half-remembered.
Personal Note: I’m not entirely sure where this scene exists — which might be part of why it feels so dreamlike to me. It’s as if the location has receded into the same haze I tried to capture in the painting.
