Fogarty Creek in Bloom

Natural Garden – oil on canvas, 16×20 – gifted

Fogarty Creek in full bloom is a sight that never fails to stop me in my tracks. I’ve walked this creek countless times, but on that first morning, the place seemed touched by something rare and fleeting—light, color, and vitality all joining together in a single moment. I knew I had to try to capture that beauty before it slipped away.

This painting is more than a landscape to me; it’s a memory of wonder, a reminder of how nature can surprise you even when you think you know it well. Later, when I offered my best patron the choice of any painting, she chose this one without hesitation. I like to think her choice affirmed what I felt that day—that sometimes, nature reveals its truest poetry when you’re willing to stand still and see.
