This garden study comes from the flowers my wife has tended with such care over the years. I’ve always admired her gardens, but only recently did it strike me that they offer endless painting subjects right outside our door. These roses were glowing in the afternoon light, rising above their bed of deep greens and shadowed foliage.
What I enjoyed most was the mix of soft and vibrant color — the warm reds and yellows pushing forward against cooler leaves and the quiet, shaded corner behind them. It’s a simple backyard moment, but one that feels full of life.
**Personal Note**
My wife loves these paintings because she can enjoy her gardens year-round now, even when the flowers aren’t in bloom.
