Lowland Autumn

Oil on canvas, 16×20, Sold

Captured during a fall visit to Tice Woods, this painting evokes the dazzling brilliance of Oregon’s lowland autumn colors. Sunlight filters through the trees, igniting the golden foliage in a radiant glow that spills into the field below. The composition invites the viewer to step into this quiet space and linger among the layers of warmth and shadow.

Personal Note: I snapped the reference photo for this painting while hiking with my grandson, who was just beginning to explore photography. He now focuses on close-up shots — perhaps influenced by these early hikes. This painting sold at my very first art show to my best patron, who returned the next year to buy a second work: another version of Miller Woods Pond.
